Our Mission
We are a regional Business Community Development Organization
Living Local 413 is committed to building strong, sustainable business communities that enhance everyone’s quality of life. We believe that investing in our local economies can create a brighter future for our communities and our world.
We Have Deep Roots In Western Mass
Living Local was founded in 2013 as a grassroots movement in Western Mass. Our founders recognized the importance of small businesses in our communities and the need to support them in order to create thriving local economies. Through social media and special events planning, we engaged local businesses and consumers to promote the idea of “Eat. Shop. Live” locally. Over the years, Living Local has evolved into a non-profit organization with a mission to empower local businesses and consumers alike. We continue to provide networking opportunities, educational resources, and access to financing resources to help businesses succeed. We also work closely with town/city leaders and media companies to promote the benefits of shopping locally and supporting small businesses.
Through our efforts, we have seen firsthand the positive impact that local businesses can have on our communities. By shopping locally and supporting small businesses, we can create stronger, more sustainable economies that benefit everyone. At Living Local, we are proud to be a part of this movement, and we look forward to continuing to support our local communities for years to come.

Funding & Programs Director
Scott Graves is our Funding and Programs Director, leading the charge in financing property development and economic programs, including the Living Local Startup Studio. His role involves not only creating innovative programs but also forging strategic partnerships, such as our current collaboration with the accelerator partner, gener8tor.
With a rich history as the founder of SMGraves Associates, Scott brings decades of experience in economic development, property development, construction, finance, and business innovation. He also previously owned Smash Music, a music merchandising company. Over his 25-year career, Scott has drawn on his creative roots as a performing artist to reshape business and community ecosystems, always prioritizing opportunities for those often overlooked by the contemporary economy.
As the host of the ‘Are We Here Yet?’ podcast, Scott dives into discussions on economics, urbanism, and culture, championing smart, localized solutions to complex challenges. His vision is clear: “Communities, large and small, now have an unprecedented opportunity to address housing, localized capital, and innovation. It’s time to lead with homegrown solutions and shape the narrative for the future of your corner of the world.”
Advisory Board
A special thanks to our advisory board members. They help us decide how best to work together to support our local business community. As the leaders of our communities, they have all been extremely helpful and willing to give their time and resources to this very important grassroots movement.
